Project Overview
Works were carried out at Hinckley Health Centre to address issues with the flashing and sealing around several first-floor surgery room windows. The existing seals had deteriorated, creating the potential for water ingress and reduced weather protection.
The objective of the project was to repair the window flashing and reseal affected areas to restore the building envelope and prevent further deterioration.
Scope of Works
The works included:
Restoring the building envelope through safe, efficient window repairs and resealing.
Method
The team established safe access using a mobile scaffold tower, allowing controlled access to the first-floor windows overlooking the ramp area.
Once access was secured, the existing flashing and seals were inspected. Damaged or failing sections were repaired and new sealant applied where necessary to create a continuous waterproof seal around the window frames.
All works were completed during normal daytime hours to minimise disruption to the health centre’s daily operations.
Outcome
The repairs successfully restored the integrity of the window installations, improving weather resistance and reducing the risk of water penetration into the surgery rooms.
The project was completed on schedule within the two-day programme, with all work carried out safely and in accordance with site requirements
