About the client.
Caterpillar is the world’s leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, diesel and natural gas engines, industrial turbines and diesel-electric locomotives. Roshal has successfully been working with Caterpillar for the past 4 years at their offices in Leicester and also other sites across the UK, which has allowed us to build a special relationship with them, gaining understanding and knowledge in their requirements as if it was second nature.
The brief.
To design and create a more operational space for the HR team, allowing them to work in a more functional way within the office. This project followed the L2 refurbishment project, which mirrored the furniture and interior design from L1 & L2 producing a cohesive feel throughout all areas. The refurbishment also included replacing the ceiling and flooring.
The Furniture was supplied as per the new L2 look and feel, signed off in the initial designs.
Our solution.
To refurbish this space in the way we proposed, we needed to remove various existing walls and reinstall these based on the new space plan. This new layout allowed the HR team to sit in close proximity to the Managing Directors office, maintaining privacy from the main office.
The area was stripped back to brick in some areas and new plasterboard installed, taped and filled with full decoration throughout the area to match the main L2 area design, inclusive of new Modulyss carpets to match.
The existing ceiling was in a poor condition, so a new suspended ceiling was installed based on a 600 x 600 grid and new large format doors were made bespoke and installed to finished the project off.
