Financial Accounts Manager

Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.
  • Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to the CEO and the board.
  • Working with project managers for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Sales Ledger management: processing sales invoices and applications and chasing age debtors. Managing the retention applications process.
  • Purchase Ledger management: Managing the sales invoices process by entering into SimPRO and transferring over to Xero.
  • Full ownership of payroll and timesheets.
  • Complete control of balance sheet accounts, including preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations, identifying risks/opportunities, and communicating to senior management.
  • Reviewing and monitoring Subcontractor to ensure all legal documentation and insurances is compliant.

Payroll responsibilities:

Leading the team responsible for payroll, VAT and HMRC processes.

  • Setting up new starters and processing leavers
  • Making payroll adjustments and calculation of bonuses, mileage and expenses
  • End-end processing of payroll through Simpro scheduling, approval of timesheets and exporting through to Xero for timely pay run
  • Dealing with payroll queries
  • Processing pension payments through NEST
  • The Cornfield Partnership: Manage sales invoices

Other responsibilities

  • Accreditations: Manage the upkeep of information for all industry accreditations portals, including payment (Safe Contractor, ConstructionLine, Facilities Line, CHAS, Acclaim)
  • Supplier portals: Manage the upkeep of information for all Suppliers accounting portals (CBRE / Mitie / Zycus)
  • Manage external licences we hold as a company (ie waste etc)
  • IT: Ensure all office equipment is maintained and records kept including the below with full details costs, purchase details (Hardware / phones / ipads / laptops)
  • Company policies: Be responsible for the review and upkeep of company policies circulating for any stakeholders/employees and updating on the website and any third party necessary.
  • Quality, Environment and sustainability: Manage the aspects and impacts meeting annually as per the new process to review quality, environment and sustainability
  • Managing company holiday allocation

Skills

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Excel and modelling
  • Creating statutory accounts
  • Ability to delegate and manage the work of others
  • Experience of AP and AR
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Xero experience is preferred (but another accounting software such as Sage would be beneficial)
  • SimPRO Experience would be beneficial but not crucial
